Salsalate, a drug prescribed more for the treatment of arthritis and the many other medical conditions that require non-steroidal treatment for swelling has the unexpected benefit of getting people who are obese to loose weight and lower blood pressure which are common killers of obese people which cause strain on the vital organs such as the lungs and heart. The drug does have side-effects which can ruin your day but as they say, no pain, no gain. It is no magic drug but it can indeed assist the obese in loosing weight and getting on track to becoming healthier allowing the resumption of normal life.
